When running windows update on my PC I experienced an error [Error number: 0×80070715] and the security updates could not be downloaded. This is critical for windows computers. So I contacted Microdoft support. Their support for update issues is free. They came up with a solution.

1. Download the “Windows Update Agent 3.0″ from one of Microsofts servers.
2. Copy the file to the C:\ drive
3. then run  C:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce
4. Then restart and you are done

This solution worked fine for me.
